our school at blair grocery
|
Our School at Blair Grocery is a project that came out of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It is in a neighborhood in New Orleans known as the Lower Ninth Ward. This part of the city experienced the most devastation from the storm in 2005.
Students grow food then sell it to local restaurants. So it is an entrepreneurial enterprise, and students also learn many of the 21st century skills as well as much of the regular content knowledge through participation in the program. It is an excellent example of Urban Farming! |
